AI doesnt do that. Thats just media clickbait and goyslop. The energy used is extremely minimal. You gotta understand that 100% of the energy used by a computer, comes out as heat.
Computers are overcomplicated heaters. They convert electricity to heat, with some mildly usefull data crunched out being the byproduct.
The heat generated by an entire data center, is pretty minimal compared to the heat an oven uses or the heat used to heat a home.
Also your 100% valid for hating on AI content. Its soulless slop.
But people should start using AI as a tool, the same way someone might use a rotoscoper or blender. People should hand draw the vast majority of the scene, and only use AI to maybe shade in certain parts of the image for them. Or use AI to interpolate between frames, while fixing the crappy results afterwards.
Right now AI companies are just slop-generators. But open source models and comfyui is pretty good. You can customize exactly what the machine does, and make sure its a tool to accelerate your art rather than replace it
