The ‘they’ll harm/destroy us’ sound bite is total BS. Just a tiny amount of research on what a LLM actually is will explain why. Replacing knowledge workers (only - manual workers were already replaced by machines where companies could and for plumbers and waiters, robots are still a pipe dream outside of sound bite journalism ) is a threat - but consumers ultimately create profits, and unemployed consumers can’t consume. That is a much bigger issue and Universal Wage is one solution but that will also lead to idyl time - fodder for populists. Much bigger threat.
