Comparing a digital artist using common digital tools that don’t differ much from the traditional ones they would use to a literal generative machine to that doesn’t take any effort or skill is crazy work. It’s like if someone rode a self-driving car next to a professional runner on the tracks and said “hey, I’m doing just as much work as you are!” no, you aren’t.
Them saying digital art is anywhere near on the same level as gen ai shows what little understanding they have of both. If you’re going to try and defend the use of gen ai, at least educate yourself on how it works. It steals, generates your prompt using bits of the works it’s stolen, and hands you ai slop.
