10:09 I can't STAND when people say stuff like this, it rots me to my core and genuinely angers me to an insane degree. It is so closed minded, and frankly it's just a stupid way to think about it. The entire point of art is the act of speaking to other people without words, it's not JUST a means of eye candy. Words are not enough to convey everything you want to convey. You can put all of the little details you want into your art pieces to share what's going on in your mind. How the hell is an AI supposed to know what you're thinking? It doesn't know the intricacies of your thought process, it doesn't know what you want the art for. But this is only half of the story. Artists make art because they WANT to make it. An artist enjoys the process of actually MAKING something. Using an AI to do it for you just takes that away from you. I don't want someone or something to take away the things I love doing. I want to spend hours upon hours making something, to then look at the final result and think to myself, " *I* made this, this is *mine* , this came from *my* brain". That is why art thieves are SO frustrating to the artists. You're not just lazily benefiting off of their hard work, you're taking something that they put they're soul into....and turning it into something soulless. You're taking all of the abstract meaning and intent away from the source material. At some point, these AI stans need to realize that there is more to life than simply trying to optimize everything for efficiency. Sometimes you just need to slow the fuck down, and embrace the fact that you are a human being and not a computer. Trying to optimize every little thing may make things easier.....but it's just depressing. We already live in a reality that sucks. We all have to grapple with the fact that we are cursed with mortality, and that in the grand scheme of things, everything we do is pointless. Why are we trying to further amplify that aspect of our miserable reality? We have hobbies because it's a way of trying to forget about that. Art just so happens to be one of those things that we do to make our pointless lives worth living. AI stans, open your eyes and realize that the mindset you have is just that of surviving. I don't want to just survive, I want to live, and I suggest you adopt this mindset too.
