I would say; some companies make use of data extracted from people, and they generate value which they claim comes out of nothing, but it comes out of people. It gives a massive advantage to those capable of using big data mining compared to those who do not have the scale to do so (smaller businesses). Some companies have even used this data to deliberately interfere with democratic processes. So I would say; have the UBI be funded by companies proportional to their use of big data. At this point, we know we no longer have privacy, but we can at least try to get something in exchange for it. Oh, and if one says "but they provide services for free", well, slaves were also given food and clothes "for free".
