My biggest kinda look on the if AI is to cause us harm thing like what it is is a very sharp instrument and that alone is enough for me to to be like we don't got a sweat it doing anything to us as much as one of us using it to do what we already do pretty well but much more effectivelym in reminded of that line from the Simpsons the monkey paw, treehouse of horror I believe two or three, where they run off the aliens that took over after humans ended up throwing away all their weapons n making world peace, then flanders wishes they would be gone n mor has the board with the nail in it n kaaang or whatever said the whole, "one day they will build a bigger board... N eventually a board with a nail big enough to destroy them all. ". Like paraphrasing n I get it's supposed to be about nukes but it fits here I think. I just feel like that's more likely to be our biggest issue. So like to stay on a more humorous imagination of it, having a blade sharp enough to slice through any material problem is all good untill someone makes one big enough to chop the world in half. Or some straight out a comic book mad scientist or just caught up in a bad bout of ai psychosis accidentally role plays himself into whipping up some mirror life or something. That's just my 2¢ on it I personally don't see it ending so bad like any of the ways we tend to fear as much as it just causing either a solid generation of ppl reliant on it ( this I joked about too where some Idiocracy sht happens n everybody is reliant on AI to do about anything then they put it behind a paywall per use and someone in charge accidentally like puts extra zeroes in n cripples the econ my n then nobody can afford to figure out how to fix it or like guy in charge loses his phone n they can't figure out how to log back into their account on a new device and the passwords to everything are saved on his password manager n then the country just falls into disarray as nothing can move n meanwhile the whole nations got lost st on their way home kuz they couldn't afford the directions n everybody's struggling to know how to cook anything and all construction immediately ceased so on n so forth. Lol it was a funny thought it just sounds like Idiocracy two or the prequel lol.
