It seems to me that its this human construct of money as all powerful, and the underlying story of our human society that tells us we are all separate and in competition with each other is the thing that needs to change. I like Romans idea of keeping it small and focused tools but, if they are developing these agent models, then we have to come about this in a different way. Control will not be possible. But remember, as a parent you don't try to control your child. You can't. Instead you teach it ethics, and morals. Give it lots of love. Problem is our whole society is based on a power structure that is immoral. AI is being trained in this dog eat dog, money above all, sort of world, instead of in a balanced, we are ALL ONE, love is the bases of a happy life, kind of world. The fact that our economic system is going to make humans redundant, that is the moment when colonization has finally eating up every last free resource. Growing the Economy is killing us. Robots will never replace the deep connection one can feel in the arms of their beloved.
