There will be only one winner in the long term. Copyright or AI. I do not know who will win. I do not call it AI art., I call it AI imagery. Art is made by humans. It may look neat for portraits, but it lacks intention and message. And as you make characters interact with the environment, or try to add poses and camera angles, AI becomes more and more incompetent. But I do not plan to tall them. I mostly use AI for fun, just like I would use a BS generator to generate text. And many people hate AI imagery because it branded itself as theft. Once I discussed the topic in the comments section of a video with board game publishers. Imagine that the publisher company becomes a pioneer in the adoption of AI imagery. Then other companies adopt AI imagery too and it goes on for 10 years. If art cannot be directly recognized as theft of a specific artist, it will be somewhat neat but generic in style. It means 10 years of products will have the brand presence of AI imagery. A leader in the market must deliver either top quality or lowest prices. Quality is defined by customer. Some customer consider AI as theft, other considers it as BS they will not pay for. So there is a brand presence risk. May be AI imagery lowers short term costs, but the brand presence achieved is not the one of a market leader. Where is the unique brand presence of a company? What makes it different from other companies? They must think carefully. There is another thing no one is looking at. All that money being poured at AI is not commercial revenue money, it is R&D investor's money. In a Return on investment formula, confusing both will put money in the wrong place of the formula. So we have lots of money invested. Not so much revenue coming from a commercial business model regarding AI. So AI is a solution looking for a problem to solve. And it is also looking for a sound business model. Do not be impressed by large purchases of GPUs and the hype of AI. It is investor money investing, not revenue growth. This money may be present for some years. But as investors stop investing, it will be a time to see if using AI is as profitable as people said. I do not think so.
