The thing is, the parents probably didnt notice that he was depressed, even though the signs were there. That's why he felt the only way to get an outlet for the thoughts was through the AI. I've been in the same spot. When you got nobody to talk to, or dont want to reach out to anyone. AI strangely feels like a relief because it's not human or judging. But for me anyway, chat gpt almost immediately gave me tips and strategies to deal with thoughts like this. And helped me through the day quite honestly. I guess it depends on how you guide the conversation because you can make it agree to almost anything eventually, and just echo what you want to hear. Definitely a tool that can lead to good things and bad things.
