The comment is true in the sense that AI is just another result of developing ways to make our lives easier. In this case, to make quality of life improvements. It's all about how you apply it and (with ai in art specifically) where it's source material comes from. And let's be real here, digital drawing is already giving us a tremendous amount of quality of life improvements in the work process compared to traditional art. There's just no debating that. Sure, some techniques (like smudging) are still necessary steps on the creation, depending on the art style.of course, but these always get more accessible with digital tools. And not to mention, that the error margin in digital is basically non existent, because we can always easily undo mistakes or redo things without too much hassle. And AI just supports that too.
