Imagine top companies producing more than ever, but a huge chunk of people can’t afford to buy anything because they lost their jobs to AI. That’s basically setting the stage for an economic slowdown or even a recession.
We’ve seen this kind of shift before in history, where technology replaced jobs but also created new ones. The difference now is the speed and scale — AI could replace millions of jobs way faster than people can reskill or adapt. If that happens, the gap between production and consumption could get huge.
The real challenge isn’t stopping AI, it’s making sure the transition is balanced. That means better policies, education, and opportunities so humans stay part of the value chain. Otherwise, AI’s efficiency might actually slow things down instead of moving us forward.
