@Queer_Nerd_For_Human_Justice this was really well articulated. Perhaps “are you going to take over the world” is not something we should ask AI’s when they do advance enough to truly pass a Turing test lol. I guess the question is whether the OpenCog aspect of the programming had any influence in the conversation. If not, then there were certainly no surprises here, and no possibility of them. A lot of critics go so far as to say the OpenCog is complete B.S. anyway, and these are basically publicity puppets/parrots. That said, I think it’s possible AI has come a long ways, but maybe the Hanson guys aren’t truly the top of the field like they bill themselves.
