I feel once the bubble bursts and clients begin to realize there's more to design than just click and pick. It's going to be the sales reps that cause the most problems. More so for Art departments in places like manufacturing plants and other facilities or businesses that house an Art Department but not a full design studio.
I can already foresee the back-and-forth emails of you trying to inform the client why their design won't work. You discuss and work with the client to try and get them something that will work and fits their requests. And then the sales rep jumps in like, "Why are you causing a problem? I just made this in ChatGPT in 2 minutes. You need to provide better service." This will be a bigger problem in the end.
I feel like at some point, the clients will get tired of not being able to properly use AI as a tool. And when their prompts don't get them results in seconds. Or when their AI design falls apart within a year and they start shelling out more money for needless edits or something that can actually be used across the board in their campaign. That's when the design business will find out its new path forward.
