Sometimes it's really hard to feel like I'm not alone when it comes to AI art, even knowing there is a massive community ready and willing to fight for the rights of artists. I consider myself right on the cusp of getting into a career, I graduated art school a few months ago, and I'm currently working on commissions/Etsy/teeshirts, and in the new, up-and-coming "Warrior Cats Animated" series as a background artist, and it is really frightening to not only see how fast it improved, but the general disregard for our rights as creators. What has always baffled me is the woefully pathetic and ignorant argument of "Useless artist must get real jobs now", despite the fact that without us, movies, TV shows (Yes, EVEN live action), and especially video games (to name the big ones) would not exist, or at least would not be as stunning as they are now. They employ hundreds of artists to work, and as someone on a mini animation team, it is very clear just how important artists are in the process. Storyboard - concept - layout - background - animators - sfx - ui design - compositors - 3D - 3D Rigging, the list goes on. Artists breathe life into what would be such a mundane existence, I cannot truly fathom how people can so readily believe that we are useless. And not only to be told that to our face now so aggressively, most artists face a likely unfounded stigma our entire lives. It's always felt like us against a world who are content to believe we don't even exist. To me, AI art gave a false sense of purpose and accomplishment to (some) people who do not deserve it. It truly brings out the worst in people. To be cheesy and quote LOTR, "There is good in this world, and it is worth fighting for." Thank you so much for this video, I don't feel so alone in this fight anymore. And I apologize this is so long, if you read this far, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, my friends.
