Would you consider it art theft if someone took your image, applied blur on it, and republished? What if they did same but made a collage with 10 images? In essence fundamentally Mindjourney work same way - applying mathematical functions on top of billions of images. Somehow we've decided that if you steal 1 image it's a theft if you steal 10 it's a theft but if you steal a billion of art work then you walk free. What the heck is this? We must demand traceability from generative AI: in essence whenever it is generating image it should be able to provide top artistic influences. Great artist steal should only apply to artist - AI is not an artist and should not enjoy privilege of being human. Our brains being non traceable is one advantage we should be able to enjoy against AI. All AI that is being built should be demanded by law to be fully traceable on it's answers. AI companies will complain about it will tell you it's impossible but that's all bs they know it's possible it's just that it adds huge compute overhead which means their business models will be set few years back.
