Work in automation and one thing I've learned about logical systems is that they are senescent and rigid in a world where there's too much change. Right now AI is not at the point where it can self reflect or have enough data points for proper executive functions. It's not that AI is phasing out jobs but merely shifting the labour market. Software programmers are in less demand to create but rather more in demand to augment. The reckonning is coming for these shortsighted companies. They'll have to shell out big bucks to pay programmers to reverse engineer and recompile AI code. It's harder than you think to parse through millions of lines of nondescript code and make sense of it.
