Very few people enjoy listening to player pianos' "performaces", even if they play "better" (in terms of accuracy, etc.) than human players. They've been around for over a century and none can fill even a small theatre while a locsl punk band that picked their instruments last week could make audience go wild.. Automated things just don't offer what people want to experience.
