Also so many AI bros ignore the fact that photography ended up helping artists a lot. Having direct references for things made painting and drawing a lot easier. Also people could get their portraits done without having to sit for hours or days, which made it easier for the working folk to get art of themselves using their photos instead of live modelling. (Not in the early photography stage where it still was an upperclass privilege of course, but even then, nobles still got portraits done and sponsored artists just as much) Some might argue AI can 'help' artists by creating references, doing the rendering for you etc. But the bad far outweighs the good in that scenario. I'd rather not use a tool that steals from me, my friends and millions of fellow artists just to save a few hours of work I actually enjoy doing. People kinda forget that creation and studying is one of the fun parts of being an artist, not just the end result. No amount of prompting will give the same satisfaction as hours of perfecting, detailing and editing does, because the little details that you end up with will most likely not be intentional little easter eggs you leave behind, but just clumps of pixels that were generated according to an averaged pattern of others' hard work, which can never be called original. Anyway hope everyone has a good day, know that AI will never replace you and if you think you need it because you can't draw, I promise you can achieve a lot more than you think so don't limit yourself for instant gratification. <3
