I don’t usually comment on videos like this since i don’t like getting involved in controversies but since this is a problem that has incredibly effected me deeply as an artist I cannot keep quiet. I’m a teenage aspiring artist who has been trying to improve my art for over 4 years now. I have always loved creating and drawing ever since I was a kid and I realized I have quite the passion for it so I was aiming for it to be a career one day. I started by taking requests and drawing for the people I care about and seeing their reactions to my hours of hardwork is just so rewarding to me. But ever since highschool started, I was hit by a massive wave of depression and started drawing less. Its one of those dark days where I feel incredibly hopeless and lost. I even thought of quitting art since I can’t feel the same passion that I felt years prior. its the holidays as of right now. I have time off school and i have regained my passion for art again. But then I heard about this “AI art” bullshit. Honestly this just angers me. After years of hardwork, I found out that I’m gonna be replaced by machines someday?. Thats just a direct slap in the fucking face. Also my friend who I have been drawing for, starts gaining interest towards this “AI art” that he stopped requesting drawings from me anymore. AI art is a new end low for me as an artist. Art is something that I hold near and dear to my heart and it’s hard for me to just let it go. Thank you Sam for covering this topic since this has been stuck in my mind recently. I appreciate big artists like you who spoke out not only for themselves, but for young generation of artists like me too.
