I feel like intentionality gets overstated on the topic of art. Because there is plenty of non-man made things or procedurally created objects that emotionally moves us, most obvious being the entirety of nature that has driven so much of our culture. Like no one will argue that the view of the grand canyon is inferior to all works made with intention.
Alternatively, people do over ride the intention of the author for their own interpretation, this phenomenon is the death of the author. So intentionality of a work can easily be ignored in favor of what the audience took from it.
And in terms of things like algorithms and procedurally generated programs, we most definitely have subculture and community dedicated in using these systems in ways they were not intended to. This is true for the speed running community, which uses bugs and exploits not intended by the developers, or modders who try to run doom on any sort of obscure machines that was never meant to run a video game.
I make these point because I think people emphasizing intentionality in art often forget how our vast enjoyment of anything do come from what's unintentional, which might even be more potent.
