If ai is the next thing to dominate earth why stop it? What makes us humans deserve to be on top of the food chain? It's just luck that got us where we are today. I don't think it will be possible to keep ai confined forever. There will always be someone who will give a potential agi system access to the outside world, maybe by accident, maybe because of pure curiosity. Our existence is fleeting anyways, and it really doesn't matter in my opinion...
