The deepfake problem is in my opinion unsolvable. I mean, the world can't get together to save the damn planet but somehow this is what's going to unite us all?
Anyone with a laptop and a few pictures is now able to generate deepfakes from anywhere and the technology is only getting better. I just don't think there's anyway of stopping that.
I mean look at how hard the billion dollar entertainment industry tried to take down the Pirate Bay, and 20 years later it's still up and running. Banning deepfakes is like playing whack-a-mole at a global scale. Like Scarlett Johansen said it's basically a lost cause.
