Funny thought... if Sam Altman was right about “thank you” messages costing tens of millions in compute then technically I should stop being polite to LLMs to save the planet...So: “Thank you.” 😆🤪🤪🤪🤪But honestly, it reminds me of the whole “energy-saving lightbulb” saga..We were forced *cough* told to abandon perfectly healthy Full-spectrum incandescent lighting to “save the environment,” only to end up with fluorescent and now LED lighting — both of which are missing parts of the natural wavelength spectrum and have very serious and eggregious long-term effects on human health(some short term also)...But we saved power and and we saved money!!!..No energy have bills skyrocketed everywhere anyway, more than making up for the savings, and some...meanwhile a single AI data centre now consumes the power of a small city!!!!!!!!!! It’s madness, really.
