I do think there are some interesting debates to be had about what is considered a tool for art, and what is going to far. I would agree with most, that typing a sentence and having an AI create it brings a lot of controversy, but this assumes that there is a clear line between what is "real" art and what isn't. While I was still doing art I had peers in the same field. To bring it to a smaller scope, say there is an artist who cant for the life of them figure out how to feather a painting and make it look good. Their friend buys an expensive brush that allowed them to nail it first try. The tools are available to both, but there ere different amounts of effort put into achieving the same thing. Its also interesting to imagine Ai art being common place in the future where right now it is looked down on for its cheap and easy approach. I can almost see a similarity to the advancements in tools we have for math. I had teachers always tell me that I wont have a calculator with me at all times and that I need to memorize a multitude of formulas if I was going to survive in the real world, now everyone has it on their phones or can just ask Chat GPT. While i do agree that AI art cheapens the experience that art brings, then where is the value placed? Is it in the amount of time spent on it? Or its creativity? maybe the renown of the artist? Or maybe just looking at a piece evokes an emotion in you. That's the problem with art being subjective. I really do think that this is a dark foreshadowing of art in the future. But its all bullshit anyways
