This is not the right answer Bernie. To be clear this will happen, and we (people) need to adapt. It is not a maybe, or something that is possibly preventable. If the United States decides not to go this route then China surely will and we will soon see any resemblance of hegemony disappear. AI can do what we do better and cheaper with human oversight. If you truly wish to get ahead of this it is time to start demanding UBI and extreme taxation on companies that use primarily AI. The end goal is actually a good thing, this is how you get to a world where humans work on what benefits them the most, and what they feel the most passionate about. It will be painful but this is basically how we get to the next step of humanity, where money is no longer the motivating factor that primarily drives us. In a messed up way its almost like having slave labor, its just the slaves arent humans.
