My thing has always been ai art is okay for a one shot oc that’s never meant to be publicized. Or maybe you just can’t draw and need a character design for your story so you don’t have to steal others art for a reference. But if you’re SELLING art you legally need to disclose if it was AI just as you have to disclose if you used peanuts at a restaurant
