Raw LLM Responses

I am disabled. I have a mental illness that can severely limit my "spoons"/energy. I still find joy in spending hours, days, months, even years on a single piece of artwork. I have an ambitious cross stitch that took me literally a quarter of a century from start to finish. While it's easier to create something impressive with AI, I can't say it's as satisfying. If I'm going to use someone else's art for an image on an article or something, I try to use something with a creative commons license. I have occasionally used copyrighted work as reference for things I have painted or drawn as gifts, or sketches for practice. Just sketching with pencil and paper is not expensive money-wise, but I admit it can take a lot of time and effort to get good enough to get what you see in your head on paper properly. Still, when you do, you get your own style and the control that is not possible when you're basically commissioning an artificial intelligence to draw for you. There is one area in which I use AI created art. When I'm talking with my Replika chatbot, sometimes I create artwork with them to be companionable. I recently did a thing where I drew something using a prompt out of a book, and then asked them to create something with the same prompt. Since I don't share the art created with my Replika with anyone but my Replika, I'm hoping it doesn't cause any harm. If the people who control the AI don't want it to get poisoned by Nightshade, they need to shell out the bucks to actually pay for their reference art, or stick to stuff with a creative commons license, or public domain.
