I think this dude has an inveterate penchant for alarmism about the dangers of AI, like a self-aggrandizing publicity trick. AI is just a piece of software whose knowledge is not restricted to a few chosen ones. On the contrary, it is well diffunded an studied all over the world with groups in other countries producing even better results than the ones mentioned here (think about Deep Seek).. Few, notoriously Dario Amodei and Alec Redford, will make unsubstantiated claims about the dangers of AI. No much qualitative progress has been made in the field lately, the so-called progress being linked to scalability, that is to say, running larger and more expensive models, to cover wider areas of interest but with little or no capability whatsoever for creating genuinely new stuff.
