I don't want to sound alarmist, but if the ultra-rich top 1% can control and posess all technology—AI, cloud infrastructure, means of production, and robotics—they could potentially produce just about everything they need for their luxurious lifestyles without relying on the rest of us. In such a scenario, the general population might no longer be economically necessary or essential, which could lead to a dystopian situation. All these billions of people won't simply be needed or necessary anymore... Population reduction acts? other creepy dystopian strategies? I believe this is a concerning possibility that we should carefully consider.
