@greghelton4668 Waymo and Tesla are not running similar systems - that's the core misunderstanding. Waymo is a fixed geo-fenced robotaxi running on a pre-mapped environment with LiDAR as a crutch. Tesla is attempting a generalizable vision-based system that works anywhere without HD maps. Whether you think that bet will pay off is fair game, but they're solving fundamentally different problems. The FSD naming is a marketing issue, not a technical one. NHTSA has had years to regulate it and hasn't.
