I am a senior content creator and find ai to be a useful tool. Up to a point. It’s artificial but far from intelligent - yet - and is best used as an information aggregator on steroids that needs constant monitoring and checking.
Imho, the problem is less ai than the fact that its growth is shaped by capitalist market forces and not constrained by humanist socialist principles. If it were so constrained, it would look and behave very differently. It is up to the public to exert democratic control. Right now, with one individual who has a net worth - on paper at least - that exceeds the wealth of more than half the nation states of the world put together, it appears that the public is straining with democratic control of the economy as a general rule, never mind this sector. It why this sector is currently a runaway train.
