This is hardly the first problem involving autonomous vehicles, there’s so far to go before it’s safe.
The reasons for the accident mean that even a conventionally driven vehicle might have also collided with some one on the road in imperfect lighting conditions but usually an attempt is made for the brakes to be applied.
Surely the ‘Keeper’ in charge of this vehicle was not in proper control as they appear to have been unable to intervene, the only reason they have to be in the vehicle during these tests.
