There's no reason to have LiDAR if you have good enough AI system. And it currently seems that you would need near AGI level AI for LiDAR setup, too, unless you plan to have human remote control forever in all complex situations. When you look at the onscreen visualization of Tesla FSD, the problem is not measuring the environment and Tesla FSD would fail just the same way with LiDAR, too. Telsa's camera-only is limited by AI, not by the cameras already today!
For example, 5:00 passing school busses or ignoring speed limits has NOTHING to do with camera vs LiDAR and anybody that even things that way is simply seriously misinformed.
