Software is different layers. GUI programming for example always contain miles of code and zero complexity. Therefore you have GUI build tools. So there is more code like that. Then there is system code which tend to require few lines of text and much thought. I heard once companies monitored the number of key strokes a programmer made. I think AI will be able to do the stupid programming. Maybe even graphics programming eventually. But all of it? will take years. Also managers are really really stupid. Especially if they always wore a suit and never programmed themselves. Maybe they even tried to scare employees cause they are scared themselves.
