I think, what makes matters even worse, is the fact, that the person using AI to generate art isn't personally stealing from you. They type in a request and the AI does the rest. So I guess for some people it is hard to believe, that they are doing something wrong in using AI, when in their eyes its just harmless fun. How can something, that is so readily available to everyone be a criminal thing? I used Ai to create some images for fun, before the whole debate blew up to the size it is now and now I'm honestly not sure what to think about it anymore. One the one hand, it is just a program generating goofy pictures, while on the other hand it steals other people's intellectual property.
