Basic income would be one of the solutions for an AI driven economy, HOWEVER, that would come from taxes. And if people stop working they won't be paying taxes, and robots also don't pay taxes. And FOR SURE corporations that use robots won't be the ones who will pay the extra for the tax losses from the unemployed that will come. Also, population is ever increasing. In the 1950s there were some 3 billion people on the planet. Today we have 7, in the next 50 to 60 years when this technology is totally feasable, we may have the double the population of today, if climate change or resource wars don't kill most of us first. But if we get lucky and no extinction level event happens until then, the only solution is not using AI or automation at all in the current economic system. If only one major sector of economy uses automation en masse, it is more than enough to break the entire economy.
