AI agents will accelerate the destruction of centralized marketplaces, since they will be able to instantly compare prices across hundreds of small retailers for every single purchase you make. Amazon succeeds because a busy person knows that they can find what they want at a reasonably low price with little effort. But none of that matters if your agent can instantly find your thing at 10 cents cheaper from somewhere else.
