Because nowadays the biggest advancements in the AI field revolve around LLM, and as it turns out LLMs are pretty good at writing code which is a form of language.
People who argue whether AI can or not replace developers are delusional, in my opinion. Because the problem is not whether engineers think AI can replace them, it's that upper management believes it can.
