God these comments. The technology sub has become so incredibly boring ever since it got taken over by bitter anti-caps. At some point the best AI will pass the point where they're marginally better at the task of figuring out better ways to build AI and marginally better at optimising AI code than human AI researchers. At some point someone, somewhere will set such a system the task of improving its own code. It's hard to predict what happens after that point, good or bad.
