I mean, this is precisely why I think AI government is our future. It won't take-over, but unlike meat-brains an AI could have a [Dunbar's number](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunbar%27s_number) suitably commensurate with the number of it's constituents. Democratic government where your representative maintains a real time, constant dialog with you as an individual, and can understand and appreciate as real people hundreds of millions of constituents - knowing each as well as a close friend. Such a machine would casually and easily win any democratic election process. Of course you could also imagine the failure mode of such a thing would be more mundane: someone goes to war with it's country, and it feels every loss as closely as a family member. Grief on such a personal scale that where humans become detached at scale, it can't, and thus can't effectively command armies or is so traumatized by the experience it can't recover.
