@stickofthemick They (AI&Drawing) can have the same end result, but so can photography. Any schmuck can take a picture of a flower or prompt “a pic of flower” or draw inside the lines of a flower coloring book. Art is when Deliberate Intent (imo)
I take issue with believing “AI Art” is incapable of Deliberate Intent. Google comfyui workflows. Are those workflows any less deliberate than a blender graph, code project or painting?
Are core modules of “AI art” founded on stolen data? Yea. That doesn’t negate all the deliberate intent creators put into their work. Why can’t both be true?
I won’t downplay the growing pains of 21st century artists. A good thing is coming to an end that allowed them to monetize their passion. Just like realism artists in the 19th century. I’m not sure if “AI” will be different in that artists won’t be able to adapt into new lucrative mediums. But even if so, that seems outside the scope of stolen AI image data more towards broader systemic issues where stolen AI image data is a mere symptom.
