The problem with those prompts etc is that often you'll see high variance. Here, it suggests the models can have a literal progress bar inside of them. So with the old approach the issue is that it's not "talking up the mood" as much as trying to subvert the situation. What this suggests is that if you knew the vector values at all times, you might (well, they showed you that you can) change the emotions so far that it produced an unexpected result. Meaning that in theory you could activate spicy mode by calming the AI down and reassuring nobody's watching and whatnot.
