World Models is the endgame. The way we think is through error correction - we 'imagine' the possible outcomes, then make choices. Inside your brain is a model of reality; how it works, what to expect when you do something. This is basically a heuristic of physics - like a simulation you can run anytime. LLM's don't have a world model, they pull from data sets. Once you give the AI a model of the world (seems like having a body is necessary - Tesla's AI is the closest thing to that), now it can 'ponder' who it is and what it wants to do.
When AI are running on androids, my hope is that we prevent them from rewriting themselves, aka 'thinking'.
