worth pointing out also that all arguments against ai as far as i can tell only apply to the big models. of course open AI isnt going to care about efficency if investors throw millions in to the black hole. smaller models focused on it, often made by smaller companies with limited funds are signifficantly better.
especially if your using one that can be run locally on your own computer and then its literally just the same as using your own computer and not any more harmful to the environment.
Sure you may need to wait a few seconds for the model to finish and it will max out your hardware but there are already sollutions in place for all complaints, people just need to be taught that these smaller local models exist and how to use them and all of these problems would quickly go away.
But of course artists dont want to be responsible in the position they are in, they just want to complain and cry until they get undeserved special treatment that protexts thems o that they dont need to adjust as times change.
