As for AI generating code with vulnerabilities - that’s a fact. Just recently, Claude generated a web interface for one of my tools, and afterward I found XSS, auth token leakage via SSRF, and command injection in it. And that’s only what I noticed at a quick glance.
But saying that reviewing code is already too expensive is no longer true. Here AI can work as a researcher, instead of immediately digging through files with thousands of lines, it can pull out the entry points, then trace call chains and functions from those entry points, and look for vulnerabilities there. On top of that, there are plenty of optimizations to reduce wasted tokens. And we also shouldn’t forget that large corporations don’t care much about the cost - if it’s fast and effective, they’ll prefer it over a human.
