@Kontingency_Operations I have no idea what you’re talking about. I never encouraged people to learn to code. I’m confused.
That’s fine, people need to make a living somehow, and coding isn’t a bad gig but given the choice, most people would choose to do something they find meaning and passion in. If that’s code, great. If it’s art, great.
And don’t forget that by encouraging AI art generators, and saying “oh now artists can get a real job” you’re destroying more jobs than you’re creating. Yes there will always be demand for coding, but if artists can no longer make a living, and they should just “learn to code”, is there enough demand for coding jobs to hire every artist that can no longer make a living due to being outcompeted by a machine that steals their work?
And what about when that same AI image generation company branches out and makes an AI based code generator? What will all the coding people do then? “Get a real job”?
AI is an invention that can revolutionize productivity BY artists, software developers, and everyone else. It is not something that should replace them.
