Tracing on top of something is just tracing, its not referencing and its not showcasing your actual skills its just copying something else. Whats bad isn’t even the tracing its the fact they are doing it and lying about it. Ai art isn’t created by an artist, its code. People argue its unethical because it takes other artists artworks to create new ones, but they don’t ask the artist for permission or give credit. In the end its not real art because its not something someone created by themselves and some people will also argue referenced art is also not real art although I don’t agree with that one.
