Yeah I'm sure the developers of these AI never heard of Asimov's laws ;) This is when you realise fiction is a mile away from reality, its one thing to say "apply the laws", but, how exactly are those laws "applied", and how are they maintained? Its not so easy, and its part of the technology itself that makes it difficult to do that - as in, when AI is powerful enough to be harmful, its also difficult to control.
