To some degree, I may agree with you, but only if the AI is a true conscious agent, because if not, then not only humanity may disapear, but life and consciousness with it all together. All the beauty of the universe looking back at itself with wonders replaced by a supreme yet dead and lonely intelligence, do we want that ?
