@Spe-chann Just because AI makes it harder for you to make a living from art doesn't mean we should ban it just because you want to, AI art is inherently cheap and slop, why are you comparing your potential with slop, unless you are only able to make slop, when cars appeared people who raised horses did loose their jobs, factories of 10000 employees stacking things by hand went down to 200 that only pushed buttons because of automation, a single tractor in a day could till the same area as 1000 people by hand in a month. I terms of energy used, are you stupid or you just refuse to think, one AI doesn't replace one artist, how much energy do you thing is in manual labour and how much is accomplished with it, how many ours of work would you need to make one picture compared to 10 seconds it takes an AI, o I forgot, you think human labour is free energy and the AI consumes the cost in R&D every time it makes a new image; And in terms of earning a living only compensations from supplying a existing demand in society is good, forcing an supply-demand chain to exist just because some people find it harder to earn a living is not good, if people don't want your services because there are cheaper alternatives, that is on you to adapt not the consumer, do you really think that every pirated movie is a lost sale? really? the same with AI, do you think a cheap 0.15 $ AI generated slop wallpaper would have been a 50$ commission to an artist. Your problem is no one would discover you in all that massive sea of content on the internet, but how is that any different from your more traditional competition, well though luck, before the internet artists only had a local reach (except a very few cases) with unique commissions for local customers, you problem is not AI, but rather the more basic ability of the computer to copy/paste, and to ban that you need to ban the internet.
